Work That Tail…

Got some more work done on the tail end of the XS yesterday afternoon.  We finished up the mounts for the under-seat electronics, we’re happy with the way those tuck up in there.  We then worked a bit on the turn signal and license plate brackets.  The new steel work bench is starting to come in handy as a welding table, and our little triangle magnet toys are also proving useful.  Here a re a few quick photos:

Powdercoat. This one is for Emma, so we are trying to keep the finish level fairly high. The frame will be powder coated semi-gloss black. If I were building myself another Rusty-style bike, I’d rattle can it. I think Forrest’s 450 will also be powder coated, and we’ll go with a dark, slightly metallic grey, trying o match the actual color of raw steel on his.

How’s Kuwait this time of year? Cant wait till your back & we can ride and you can start building your own rat-duati!

Thanks to you, my mentor/enabler. I have good days & bad with the welder; the new shock mounts, great. Yesterday’s battery box, mmm…not so much.
