The process starts again!

Well after a long spell of not building bikes Spin Cycle Industries is back in action! We are going to be aggressively working on the KZ (post coming soon), and our new CB360 project. Our new client want a small, fun brat style bike  to tear up the city streets of San Francisco, and this CB is going to be the perfect fit. We  lucked out and found a bike in great condition up in Portland, and that night the bike was ours. It was dark and raining when we looked at the bike so it was a nice surprise to get it home and have it still look as good as we thought.

We are still working out the overall vision for the bike, but we dove in to all the cleaning and other work that needs to get done regardless.  The white cabinets in the shop have been repurposed as a brainstorming whiteboard.

It is amazing how fast you can tear a bike down once you have the confidence to rip off parts and throw away what you don’t need.  The harness came out right away and is in great shape.

A few hours later we pulled the engine out of the frame…. not in the most graceful way, but it worked.

With everything apart the cleaning process has begun.  Things are quickly looking better and better.  It is a nice treat to have an engine that one person can lift!

Wire wheeling parts is always fun as they look good so quickly. Here are the fork clamps all cleaned up.

Thats is it for now, but we have a lot of stuff in the pipeline so keep an eye out!
