Test Fit

Emma swung by the shop yesterday afternoon and got a test sit on her new bike.  We wanted some input from her on the final color scheme as well.  Here she is, the proud owner of a nearly finished bike:

Did we mention that we also call it ‘Spin Cycle Industries’ because my washing machine is in the shop?  Yeah, we’re pretty cool.

Like we did with the CL and the others before it, we decided to spend some time in the virtual studio looking at color schemes.  We had planned to replicate the original gold pin striping on the tank.  We also discussed a very dark burgundy seat inspired by a Japanese build we had seen.  After seeing the tank on the bike, we decided to consider some other options:

Here’s an option for a black seat & black or dark grey text, with the original idea shown below:

Then we decided to look at an option with a white seat:

We dig both the black seat and the white seat options.  Along with Emma, we decided that since most bikes have black seats, we needed to try a white one.  Sure, there is potential for it to get a bit grungy, but it’s vinyl & not that difficult to clean.  Plus, if it really goes wrong, we could get it re-covered for about a hundred bucks, so it’s not that big of a risk.

So, the seat heads to the upholsterer later this afternoon…I cant wait to see it!

And also…if you haven’t noticed the new link at the top of the page for the ART IN MOTION motorcycle show that we’re hosting, check out the flyer!  Click here for more details: http://spincycleindustries.com/?page_id=2081

EMMA! the white seat and tank detailing concepts are phenomenally righteous. Here in Tahoe, we’re all rooting for you, and can’t wait to go riding!
